Picked it up today. Reminds me of Princess Resurrection and Tsukuyomi Moon Phase with the whole "Boy meets Vampire/Monster Princess, boy becomes princess' servant, boy and princess fight off assassins and usurpers to the throne (in epic Monster VS Monster battles of course), all while Boy and Princess try and deal with a potential romantic relationship" schtick, only handled in a much more sophisticated way. While they all handle aproximately the same subject matter, the target audience for DVB is most definitely a much older and more sophisticated audience than those of PR and TMP, a fact made evident not only due to the artists inclusion of ample amounts of nudity (Loli and otherwise), but in the story's heavy emphasis on politics and race/class issues, rather than simply relying on goofy flavor of the week monster fights and silly romantic fumblage to drive the plot along. Over all, while the concept of "Rich Girl hires Poor(er) Boy as her servant, chaos ensues" is starting to get worn out, it has yet to reach the point that it is no longer entertaining. If you're a fan of this scenario and/or a fan of gothic/horror/lolicon/action/intrigue/comed... err, nevermind... lets just say I highly recomend this if you're looking for a darker, more mature take on a well tested formula.
